Resilience is a powerful thing. Circumstances in our lives can either make us or break us but one thing that is always consistent is change. Upon reading this memoir, I laughed, cried, got angry, felt empowered and in the end, Sarah Peebles gave me hope that what God has for me is for me.

Through every word I felt as if I was walking step by step with her: I felt the weather, the stings of harsh words thrown at her, strong arms of those who embraced her and I shouted for joy at her accomplishments. She told her story with transparency and she told it from the perspective of a victor and not a victim.

If you know a young person who is needs to understand that they have greatness in them, give them a copy of Teach Her. If you are someone who needs a reminder that setbacks can set you up, reading this will give you the ammunition you need to keep fighting for your dreams. Teach Her is a valuable resource for your library.

100% Real – This memoir teaches a great lesson about CHOICE

I loved reading this book for a few reasons...1.) It was descriptive. I felt as if I was living the story right along with Shantelle. 2.) Education was the catalyst in every tough spot. 3.) Every way out of a tough spot required a time for decision making.

This book is a great read for teenage girls. The story can be raw at times, but isn't that life? Most importantly...the theme throughout "Teach Her" is evident. It isn't your environment that ultimately shapes you...it is your response to your environment. Sarah Peebles clearly illustrates how every circumstance requires a decision, and every decision has a consequence....good or bad.

It will definitely tug at your heart strings because you see the triumph of a young woman who has the odds stacked against her. You finish reading the story with only two resounding words playing in your mind..."BUT GOD!..."

My review is a little bias because I know the author. I haven't read past the first two pages. I'm sorry, I couldn't leave a better review but honestly Im sure if Sarah wrote it, it must be good. Support the book, add it to your library. Pass it along to a friend.

Today I'm recalling the Sarah I met in 2003 and celebrate where you are today.  What a story you've told! To stand today in victory from what could have been your story, you better know you are BLESSED! Although my life was so far from many of the things you lived through I still found some moments of similiarities when your heart ached and tears flowed from disappointing decisions adults made that affected their children.  You are a champion for putting your joys and pains in words!  Kudos Sarah!  You did the work and job well done!
